Carrion Crow

Black ring with a white two alpha-numeric code (on one leg) and metal ring (on other leg).

note 1 : it’s important to take note on which leg the rings are.

note 2 : in the framework of studying the dynamics of city (Brussels)-Carrion Crows.

note 3 :

Combination of a metal ring, a small coloured metal rings and a c-ring with a two alpha code.

note 1 : used colours for the c-ring are blue, green and red.

note 2 : used colours for the coloured metal ring are pink, orange, lilac and green.

note 3 : to the small coloured metal ring : 2 rings on each leg in a mix of colour and shape, due to better individual recognition.

note 4 : up to 100 marked individuals of Carrion and Hooded crows, marked during spring/summer 2010 in Vienna/Austria.

note 5 : this project is ended, rings are not used anymore and birds are still alive.

Combination of 1 c- ring (letter 'A') and metal ring.

note 1 : by using different colours and combinations, a unique code was created.

Black ring with white 3 OR 4 alpha-numeric code( starting letter J')

note 1 : some hybrids are ringed in southern Norway.

Combination of a 2 alpha ring and metal ring.

note 1 : used (white or black) codes are AA-AZ.

note 2 : used colours for the ring : white, yellow, orange, red, green.

note 3 : used colours for the code : white or black.

note 4: birds ringed in the UK,  county Edinburgh.

note 5 : metal ring on right leg. note 6 : from 2012 onwards : addiional codes CA-CZ will be used.
