Snow Bunting

Combination of 3 c-rings and a metal ring (on both legs).

note 1 : the metal ring belongs to the combination.

note 2 : project since November 1997, last ringed bird in 2011 and the project is now ended.

note 3 : this project stays on the website just in case an old recovery is discovered in an old notebook.

note 4 :

Combination of c-rings.

note 1 : ad. and pulli birds have a (Stavanger) metal ring and a (year)ring above on right leg and 2 rings on the left leg. This applies only to 1998.

note 2 : during 1999 and 2000 the pulli were ringed with a metal ring on the right leg and a year colour-ring on the left leg.

note 3 : during 1999 a blue and during 2000 a pink (year)ring has been used.

note 4 : during 1998 and 1999 and 2000 some 125 ad. and 550 pulli have been ringed on Svalbard.

note 5 :

Single striped ring (on right leg) and metal ring (on left leg).

note 1 : during winter 2004 this project started at Caister-on-sea, Norfolk, England. So far (end November 2005) 404 have been c-ringed. During winter 2006-2007 75 birds were c-ringed.

Combination of metal ring (on left leg) and 1 or 2 c-ring (on right leg) (2004-2010).

note 1 : for winter 2003-04 the colour was red, while for winter 2004-05 the colour is light-green and winter 2005-06 the colour was light-blue.  For Jan-Feb 2009 colour was orange.  For dec 2009 to Jan 2010 colour was black.

note 2 : birds re-trapped in a later winter have an extra colour-ring added corresponding to that winter (maximum 2 rings).

note 3 : during winter 2005-2006, 2007-2008 no birds have been seen/ringed. Birds are ringed on the beach at Kessingland Suffolk. During December 2009 an orange-ringed bird was seen at Oesterdam, Zeeland, The Netherlands.

note 4 :

Combination of 3 c-rings: 2 c-rings (on left leg) and metal above 1 c-ring (on right leg).

note 1 : birds ringed in the UK, Scotland.

Yellow ring with a black two alpha-numeric code (on right leg) and metal ring (on left leg).

note 1 : birds ringed on different locations in France during winter 2012-2013.

note 2 : Beware of confusion with pale grey rings used in Cleveland, UK.
