note 1 : birds are ringed as nestlings and followed them during the post-fledging period ​and are followed by radio-telemetry ​(in collaboration with Dr. Jarkko Rutila, our Finnish cooperating researcher and ​the ​holder of the research permit).

note 2 : each chick has a metal ring (right leg) and a single color ring (left leg). Colors would be reused per each brood (broods are spatially distant and a combination of the c-ring plus radio-telemetry signals would exclude any identification confusions).

note 3 : the target of our project is not migration but simply id recognition of chicks during first 2 to max. 3 weeks postfledge.
