Combination of :
* 1 c-ring (a specific colour for each sex).
* metal ring.
note 1 : the aim is to identify male and female reed warblers in the field for a response to parasitism experiment.
note 2 : from 2019 onwards:
- adult females: single white uncoded ring on left tarsus, metal ring on right tarsus.
- adult males: single orange uncoded ring on left tarsus, metal ring on right tarsus.
One c-ring (on one leg) and metal ring (on other leg).
note 1 : used colours are : red (2018), blue (2019), yellow, (2020), ...
note 2 : c-ring mostly on left tarsus, anyway opposite metal ring.
note 3 : birds equiped with a geolocator.
note 4 :
If a bird with a red colour ring is trapped in 2018 do NOT remove the geolocator.
If a bird with a red colour ring is trapped in 2019 or later in Europe, please remove the geolocator and contact us to arrange recovery of the device: ring@vrsdehaar.nl
If a bird with a blue colour ring is trapped in 2019 do NOT remove the geolocator.
If a bird with a blue colour ring is trapped in 2020 or later in Europe, please remove the geolocator and contact us to arrange recovery of the device: ring@vrsdehaar.nl
If a bird with a yellow colour ring is trapped in 2020 do NOT remove the geolocator.
