It is to find out the differences in breeding behaviour between male/female and waders in the arctic and with a day/night rhythm.

note 3 : The project is a Retrapping Adults for Survival project at the former isle of Wieringen, Nths. Between 2000 and 2022 over 500 birds (344 adults and 169 juveniles) were ringed. The survival rate differs per year, but is normally between 75 and 95% for adults. Most birds are seen in the breeding area, but some interesting ring readings along the flyway between Netherlands and Western Africa are in the database nowadays. Other aims of the project are giving information about mating system, dispersal and nest- and fledging success.

note 4 : the project runs on breeding birds and pulli, on the most northern point of Noord-Holland, Waddenseacoast, The Netherlands.
