note 1 : few rings were used on full grown birds at the coastal Lithuania.

note 1 : the metal BTO is fitted on the left leg.

note 2 : used codes are A1AA - A1ZZ black characters on white,  A2AA - A2ZZ black characters on white, A3AA - A3ZZ black characters on white, A4AA - A4ZZ black characters on white, A5AA - A5ZZ red characters on white, A6AA - A6zz black characters on white,  A7AA - A7ZZ black characters on white.

note 3 : codes will be used till A9**. The wild gull chicks have been ringed on roof nests along the south coast.

note 1 : do please pay attention to the colon “R:” as this is very important.

note 2 : the birds are ringed on the Nature Reserve of Lilleau Niges,  Re Island, Charente Maritime department, France.

note 3 : 190 birds ringed up to Feb 2013.

White ring with a red four alpha-numeric code : starting letter "L", follwed by a colon ":" followed by letter-letter-number” (eg L:AB1).

note 1 : birds are ringed as pulli on St Georges Island, Looe, Cornwall, England, the site of the largest GBBG colony in Cornwall with about 70-80 pairs.

note 2 : rings read from bottom to top with L : nearest the foot.

note 3 : pay attention to the colon ! (eg L:AA1, L:AA2, … L:AB1, L:AB2 etc).

note 4 : Numbers ringed per year as follows:

2010 - 49
2011 - 91
2012 - 24

note 5 : Scheme extended to Mullion Island, The Lizard and to Falmouth, Cornwall in 2013

note 1 : birds are ringed at Lilla Karlsö, Gotland, Sweden.

note 2 : approx 200 birds ringed so far.

note 1 : scheme started June 2012 on the Break Waters of Portland Harbour Dorset.

note 2 : 82 birds ringed in 2012, starting with code P:00A.

note 3 : sightings received of 37 individual birds from various locations in South of England, the Channel Islands and the French Coast.
