note 1 : during summer 2009 breeding female eiders will be marked in the Helgeland region of Nordland county in Norway. The study will concentrate on gathering data on nest site fidelity in common eiders, breeding at traditional "eider farms" where islanders build houses for the ducks, and later harvest the down.
