note 1 : twelve young Ibises escaped from the Metelener Heide Bird Sanctuary in the Muenster-area, Germany. These birds have been hand-raised by the Austrian biologist Mr. A. Schneider [Konrad-Lorenz-Forschungsstelle für Ethologie, Oberösterreich] and are part of a study to determine methods and success of food search. The birds were part of a free-flight experiment.
