Vultures

species:
Eurasian Griffon Vulture
scientific name:
Gyps fulvus
notes:

Combination of yellow ring with black 3 alpha-numeric code (right tarsus), metal ring and yellow wingtag with same code.

note 1 : yellow ring, black alpha-numeric code + yellow wing-bands with same alpha-numeric code.

note 2 : 320 griffon vultures ringed in Aragon (NE Spain) from April 2009 to present date (July 2010) and increasing. The aim of the project is to know about vulture population and their movements within the region -considering changes happened after cattle disease problems and legal regulations on the matter-. Surveys throughout the network of feeding stations provided by the regional government are the main source of data.
Recordings from elsewhere, including those from out of the region/country are very welcome.

note 3 : the codes are not overlapped with the other groups of Spain thanks to the Estación Biológica de Doñana coordination.
