note 1 : for white rings 000, 001.... 099 ; for red and yellow the same code ; for blue 000, 001... 010 ; for green 000, 001... 020 ; for orange 000, 001... 030.

note 2 : this project started in 2010 and by the 15th. of June 2010 already 63 chicks are ringed.

note 3 :  the project will be a part of a Msc. Thesis at University of South Bohemia in České Budejovice with the title "Mobility and fidelity of Night Herons in South Bohemia" under supervision of Jan Riegert, Ph.D. (teacher at Faculty of Sciences, Ceske Budejovice).

note 4 : the population in South Bohemia reaches over 200 BP, there are more than 15 small or medium sized colonies. The goal of the project is to mark young Night Herons from different colonies in Southern Bohemia and observe their mobility and fidelity to home colony.

note 5 : a collection escapedfrom the Bodenham GP-area, Greater Manchester with a white ring at the left leg and a red ring at the right leg. The birds do not belong to the well-known colony at Edinburgh Zoo.
