* one letter and two letters, 90° turned (on one leg) and metal ring (on other leg).

* three letters into a triangle.

note 1 : before 2016 birds of NordRhein-Westfalen were ringed left, while the Dutch birds had their ring on the right tarsus.

note 2 : from 2016 onwards -due the fact that the Dutch and NordRhein-Westfalen population are one- this way of ringing is not valid anymore.
