Terns

species:
Lesser Crested Tern
scientific name:
Sterna bengalensis
notes:

Combination of c-rings :
* two c-rings (on left tarsus leg) and white ring (on right tarsus) and metal ring (on right tibia).

note 1 : the birds are ringed on the colonies of sandwich tern of Banc d'Arguin (Gironde - southwest France) and the island of Noirmoutier (western France).

note 2 : one of the goals of this program is to better identify hybrids, if you see a ringed bird, a description and photos would be very useful.

note 3 : some birds lose their rings, an "orange-billed" tern, or with hybrid characteristics probably comes from this program.

note 4 : incl. hybrids with Sandwich Tern.
