Combination of 3 c-rings and metal ring (one ring above the metal ring on the left leg, two rings on the right leg).

note 1 : used colours are blue, light-blue, light-green, green, orange, pink, red, white, yellow, white-black stripe, white-red stripe.

note 2 : the striped or split c-rings may be fitted either way up, e.g. white-red or red-white.

note 3 : nestlings are ringed with individual combinations on breeding areas in the south Pennines, NW England, UK, as part of the monitoring program for the South Pennines Twite Recovery Project funded by RSPB and Natural England.

note 4 : >500 twite have been ringed between 2008 and 2010. It is important to record the position of the colour rings on each leg to be able to identify an individual bird.
