Geese

Combination of 1 c-ring (on each leg) with code (1 number or 1 letter or 1 till 3 horizontal lines).

1 yellow darvic ring with a double digit inscribed (Russian metal ring on other leg).

note 1 : the project concerns Branta bernicla bernicla.

note 2 : used colours are black, yellow, white, light-green, dark-green, light-blue, dark-blue, orange, red.

note 3 : letter as K, X and Y are used … so beware of mistakes.

note 4 : a joint British, Dutch and German project. Most birds read in the Danish-German-The Netherlands area belong to this project.

note 5 : from 1973 till 2003 up to 5667 Brent Geese have been colour-ringed with legrings. Over 165.000 resightings have been recieved. In 2002 58 Brents were marked in France, 66 in The Netherlands and 15 in July on the Taimyr-peninsula.
