Audouin's Gull

Gulls

species:

White ring with a black three alpha-numeric code, starting letter 'I'.

note 1 : the project started in 1999 and included 2655 marked birds up to the 2021 breeding season.

note 2 : several ring series were used at Aspretto, Corsica by Recorbet & Le Dru (life histories available from nicola.baccetti@isprambiente.it ).

note 3 : for marking scheme info. , please refer to: nicola.baccetti@isprambiente.it

note 4 :

Gulls

species:
notes:

White ring with a black three alpha-numeric code, starting letter 'K'.

note 1 : the project run in 1998-99 and included 349 marked birds.

note 2 : for marking scheme info., please refer to : nicola.baccetti@isprambiente.it

note 3 :

Gulls

species:
notes:

Yellow ring without code (on tibia) and metal ring (on other leg).

note 1 : these birds were ringed during a GPS tracking study in the Ebro Delta during spring 2011, as a collaboration between SEO/BirdLife and Barcelona University, supported by the Ebro Delta Natural Park.

note 2 : some 60 birds were taghed, some of them already carrying a PVC ring, and the rest ringed with metal ring and one colour ring (either yellow or orange). These rings have been used to avoid interfering in the monitoring study carried out by IMEDEA (Daniel Oro et al.) in the colony, at their request.

note 3 : the aim of using identifiable (colour) rings was to easily spot the tagged birds at the moment of recapture for tag retieval (2 weeks after first capture). Although it implies losing information, we assumed that these rings would not interfere any other ringing scheme intended to study seabird movements away from the breeding colonies, as such studies would use either darvic rings with a code or a combination of colour rings.

note 4 : all birds were not recaptured and some of them left the colony with the GPS on. In case somebody reports a trapped bird carrying one of these devices, please let the projectleader know as to recover the information.

Gulls

species:
notes:

note 1 : birds ringed near Aspretto/Ajaccio island of Corsica, France.

note 2 : used letters are A, B, C, D, F, H, J, K, L, N, P, S, T, V, Z.

note 3 : beware as the same codes are since years used on Herring Gull, Yellow Legged Gull and Lesser Black-backed Gull.

note  4 :

Gulls

species:
notes:

Blue ring with white 4 alpha-numeric code (always starting with letter 'P') (on tarsus).

note 1 : during 2010 some 100 birds were ringed in a recent discovered breeding colony. The project wants to understand the birds movements in the Portugese coast and the movements between the Spanish colonies. The project will be runing for at least five years.
