note 1 : green rings with white code are used in Saxony, Germany.

note 2 : codes used are: D**, F**, M**, R** with ** = 00 – 99 (for instance “R00”).

note 3 : codes used are: M#*, R#* with # = A – Z and * = 0 – 9 (for instance “MP4”).

note 4 : 400 birds ringed up to early 2013.

note 1 : red rings with white code are used in Bavaria, Germany.

note 2 : codes used are X**, Y**, Z** with ** = 00 – 99 (for instance “X99”).

note 3 : 200 birds ringed so far.

note 2 : codes are:  A**, B**, C**, E**, G**, H**, J**, K**, L**, Q** with ** = 00 – 99 (for instance “A01”).

note 3 : codes are:  A#*, B#*, C#*, E#*, G#*, H#*, J#*, K#*, L#*, Q#* with # =  A – Z and * = 0 – 9 (for instance “KP9”).

note 4 : 2100 birds ringed up to 2013.

note 5 : - for future use the following coding is planned and reserved: letter/number/letter“ (e.g. A1A – Z9Z).
