Red ring with a white four alpha-numeric code, starting letter  'U' followed by three numbers (on right tarsus) and metal ring (on left tarsus).

note1 : used codes are : U000-U099.

Combination of 4 c-rings (3 on tarsus and 1 on tibia) and metal ring.

note 1 :  used colours are : white, yellow, red, green and black.

note 2 : the same project was running from 1971 till 1990 and 1995, males have the three rings on right leg and one on left tarsus or tibia, females on the left leg and one at right tarsus or tibia.

White ring with a black four alpha-numeric code : starting letter 'S' followed by a combination of three letters or numbers.

note 1 :  most of these rings will be used for gulls wintering in Croatia, mainly on Zagreb rubbish dump.
Most are used on Black-headed Gull , but possible some on wintering Common Gulls (Larus canus).

note 2 : submit your sighting (see under) ... the procedure is to sign up at www.saveaves.com and then send the project-leader an e-mail with username they signed up with. After that he'll put them on a list of ring-readers and the obserever can enter recoveries.

note 5 : codes used from 2006 onwards is AA1 to ZZ0.
