Yellow ring with a black four alpha-numeric code (starting letter 'W', followed by 3 alpha-numeric code).

note 1 : these codes are used mostly on Black-headed Gulls (Larus ridibundus) , but possible some on Common Gulls (Larus canus).

note 1 : used codes are : Z00A-Z99A, Z00C-Z99C, Z00E-Z99E, Z00F-Z99F, Z00H-Z99H, Z00J-Z99J, Z00K-Z99K, Z00L-Z99L, Z00M-Z99M, Z00P-Z99P, Z00R-Z99R, Z00T-Z99T, Z00U-Z99U, Z00V-Z99V, Z00Y-Z99Y.

Red ring with a white four alpha-numeric code, starting letter  'U' followed by three numbers (on right tarsus) and metal ring (on left tarsus).

note1 : used codes are : U000-U099.

note 2 :

Combination of 4 c-rings (3 on tarsus and 1 on tibia) and metal ring.

note 1 :  used colours are : white, yellow, red, green and black.

note 2 : the same project was running from 1971 till 1990 and 1995, males have the three rings on right leg and one on left tarsus or tibia, females on the left leg and one at right tarsus or tibia.

note 3 :

White ring with a black four alpha-numeric code : starting letter 'S' followed by a combination of three letters or numbers.

note 1 :  most of these rings will be used for gulls wintering in Croatia, mainly on Zagreb rubbish dump.
Most are used on Black-headed Gull , but possible some on wintering Common Gulls (Larus canus).

note 2 : submit your sighting (see under) ... the procedure is to sign up at www.saveaves.com and then send the project-leader an e-mail with username they signed up with. After that he'll put them on a list of ring-readers and the obserever can enter recoveries.

note 1 : up to 2014, a total of 300 rings were delivered since 1995-2005.

Red ring with a white three alpha-numeric code.

note 1 : code can be number/number/letter OR number/letter/letter OR letter/number/number OR letter/letter/number. 

note 2 : codes used from 1986 to 2005 are 01A to 00Z and 1AA to 0ZZ.

note 3 : codes used during 2005 and 2006 are A01 tot Z00.

note 5 : codes used from 2006 onwards is AA1 to ZZ0.

Red ring with a white four alpha-numeric code : first letter 'T' followed by three alpha-numerics.

note 1 :

Red ring with a white four alpha-numeric code, starting letter 'E' followed by two letters and one number.

note1 : used codes are EAA0-EAA9, EAC9-EAC9, EAE0-EAE9, EAF0-EAF9, EAH0-EAH9, EAJ0-EAJ9, EAK0-EAK9, EAL0-EAL9, etc.
