The colour ringing is combined with satellite and GPS logger tagging of Red-breasted Geese to study the interaction and linkages between roosting sites and foraging grounds of the species at its wintering grounds in Bulgaria and gather addition data along the migration route via satellite tags. Data are to be used to fit into development of agro-environmental schemes for crop rotations in the area, compensations schemes, updating of the National Species Action Plan and site management measures.

note 3 : rings with the yellow colour and black letters are rings remaining from John Quinn's ringing activities in Timir, Russia. 10 rings are remaining and the new rings to be fitted two letters combination are white with black letters.
