note 1 :  a large project ongoing since 2006 throughout Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Cleveland, working in conjunction with the Sorby Breck Ringing Group.

note 1 : the population of Mute swans at Kastoria Lake is relatively small (7-12 breeding pairs during the last years). However, during the winter the population increases considerably. With colour ringing this project would like to see the dispersion of birds in neighbouring lakes.

note 1 : ref. the picture: this bird also had a Latvian ring. It was ringed in Latvia on 29 May 2005, and subsequently colour-ringed in Copenhagen on 7 March 2010.
