In the last years, a roost of proximally 4000 individuals (based on numbers of capture/recapture during the winter of 2012/2013) of Motacilla alba, was found in Fornos at the North of Coimbra (Portugal). The initial approach (in the past winter), gave us not only an estimate of the number of roosting birds, but also recaptures from other countries and one bird ringed in the previous year about 8 km away from the roost. Additionally, several individuals were seen with metal rings around the roost including in the new landfill, where several individuals were seen simultaneously and were likely ringed in this roost.
