note 2 : Two alpha-numeric coded yellow colour rings were used from 1999 to 2013 ; from 2014 onwards the two letters/numbers of the code are separated by a black line (e.g. A|A).

note 3 : codes V|2, V|3, V|4 and V|5 are also used and to be read from bottom till top, but some rings could be upside-down.

note 1 : birds are ringed from 2005-2010 (3 alphanumerics since then) in several areas of Poland, mostly NE Poland.

Coloured wing-tags on each wing with black or white symbols.

note 1 : note 1 : this program aims at measuring both qualitatively and quantitatively Montagu’s harrier dispersal. Birds were banded as chicks over the whole species distribution in France between 2007 and 2010 (as well as in some areas in Germany, Netherlands and Spain) using a patagial wing-tag on each wing.

note 2 : one black or white symbol (or no symbol) per wing-tag, different on each wing.

note 3 : background colours for wing-tags are blue, fuchsia, yellow, orange, lime-green, red and white.

note 4 : three informations are essential: symbol, colours of the symbol and background colour and this for each wing.

- in East Extremadura (southwest Spain) only one letter or a number plus a letter are used (ex. A, B, 1A, 5V)

- in  West Extremadura (southwest Spain) only one number or a letter plus a number are used (ex. 1,4, C1, A3)

note 2 : This wingtag project started in 2006 before this year white colour ring with black alphanumeric code was used. More than one hundred Montagu’s Harrier was wingtagged.

note 3 : Project is a part of the Montagu’s Harrier Conservation program of the Junta de Extremadura. Birds are wintagging by ringers of NATUREX.
