Yellow ring with black 4 alpha code, starting letter "A", having a dot "." in the centre.

note 1 : ca. 30 birds in this scheme were ringed in Sweden.

note 2 :

Dark-green ring with a white 4 alpha code : letter 'A' / letter / letter / letter.

note 1 : for most birds ringed in Germany : AAxx, ACxx, AExx , AHxx , AJxx , AKxx , ALxx, ANxx, ASxx where x means a letter out of A, C, E, H, J, K, L, N, R, S, T, U, Y, Z.

note 2 :

Dark-green ring with a white four alpha-numeric code, starting letter "J" and a combination of three digits : numbers and/or letters.

note 1 : J is never followed by three letters.

Yellow ring with a black four alpha-numeric code : starting code '2' followed by one letter and two numbers.

note 1 : used codes are 2C, 2E.. and 2H.. etc...

note 2 :

Red ring with a white four alpha-numeric code : starting number '9' followed by a number / a number / letter 'A'.

note 1 : the number '9' is the country code for the Baltic Republics.

Red ring with a white four alpha-numeric code : letter 'Y' followed by three numbers.

note 1 : code to be read upwards.

note 2 : c-ring on left leg for chicks and c-ring on right leg for adults.

note 3 : due to a change in coordinator, do please resend your observation from the period 2018 - now to the Ringing Centre.

note 4 :  

Dark-blue ring with a four alpha-numeric code : starting number '5' followed by a letter / number / number.

note 1 : used letters are A, B, C, D, E, G, H, I, K, L, M, N, P, S, T, V.

note 2 : not used letters are F and R, J, O, Q, U and W..

note 4 : code N20J has been used on Med. Gull.

note 5 :

White ring with a black three alpha-numeric code.

note 1 : code could be number/number/letter OR number/letter/letter.

Black ring with a white four alpha-numeric code.

note 1 : starting letter "X" followed by 1 letter and 2 numbers.

note 2 : there is a small check-dot on different levels between letter X and second sign.

note 3 : rings are to be read from bottom to top.

note 4 : two birds (XC88 and XC00) are ringed in Saxony, South-eastern Germany.

note 5 : pay attention as mostly Black-headed Gull is ringed with this code.

Black ring with a white four alpha-numeric code.

note 1 : starting letter "P" followed by a three numeric code.

note 2 : during summer 2012 3 chicks (P043, P044 and P045) were ringed.
